Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

The Travelling Dreamer

Sunlight filtered down through dappled leaves.
Dreams scampered off as tired eyelids forced open.
The forest floor was cool against her cheek,
fingers of an early morning breeze exciting exposed skin.
What were those giant beasts that she had seen,
that had spluttered and screeched by as she watched?
Tall, towering structures that blocked out the sky,
casting shadows over the colony scurrying below.

Slowly she raised her heavy head from its slumber,
looking out to a scene that confused her tired eyes.
The village was small and more familiar,
but it was not hers. Was this still a dream?

Someone spoke and she felt the strange words
swirl through her ears, not understanding them
but somehow able to decipher them and reply,
a tongue that lay in the moist cavern of her mouth
ushering out words that were not her own.

Their eyes were gentle, the soft lull of their voices
mingling with the quiet tones of the waking forest.
She did not appear to be strange to them,
but she felt awkward in their presence.
Olive coloured fingers raised from her arms to wipe
away a strand of hair that danced in the breeze,
tickling her nose excitedly, drinking in the smells.

* * * * * * *

For so long she had travelled these mysterious lands,
dreamed of so many times that were not hers
that now they had become her reality.
Where did the dreams end and the reality begin?
When would she find the time that she would embrace?

*this belongs to a much longer piece in the making, but you get the general gyst of it.
