" The Pork Incident "
September 22nd 2011 21:51
Well, I have created an awesome dish called Drunken Rum Pork ( all on accident) . It was so weird how it happened but the outcome OMG great!
So one night I was having the girls over for drinks, ( not often enough ) and we were sitting around my dining table trying to figure out what to eat ( starving does not describe lol )..Well my friend Alicia said hey lets make some smore shots: ok quick break down of a smore shot; chocolate godiva, splash of baileys ( irish creame) your favorite rum. WOW !!!!. Any how I got up to go make the smore shots, and with out thinking I pulled out some thawed out pork I had in the fridge...was supposed to be dinner but plans changed at last moment (mommy was blessed with free time YIPPEE ) and put it in the sink.
After about 2 blender fulls of smore shots, I go to make another round and forgot the pork was in the sink, I set the blender next to the sink to mix up the smore's (no top of course silly me ) well once I cut it on it went everywhere it was like some
chocolate heaven or wonderland in my kitchen. I looked down after like a million chuckles and just downright falling out laughs and the pork I had in the sink was compleatly covered in the smore's shots. I had enough to clean and was like hummm I wonder what my pork would taste like covered in the smore shots, I turned and asked my firends of course they advised to try it so I did.
I took the pork ( roast ) put it in a baking pan, covered it with foil and let it bake for about 1 1/2 hours. I steamed some veggies for side dish and melted a lil velveta on them. If I tell you the smell from that roast was so weird at first it was like I was stuck in a hall with one side being a lovely bakery and the other side a gym locker...I was very hesitant but when I removed the foil to my suprise it was so pretty, my firends and I all dared eachother to taste it at the same time....OMG IT WAS SO GOOD...It had a sweet, yet salty unusual taste that I can not describe.. The flavor combination was actually paired just right. Definetly had my firend wanting to use the same recipe. So thats how it all happen crazy hun well if your ever in a daring mood you should try creating your own suprise dish.
