The Shopping List
November 12th 2006 14:55
There once was a fellow named Chris,
Who decided to create a shopping list.
Potato and Lime, Orange and Bread,
Milk, Juice, Lamb and Green he held tight in his fist.
With Rosemary and Thyme he was dreaming up a dish that would taste so divine.
Little boy Bob ran up and knocked his dream over,
Belly over, Bob chuckled and said 'Clean up this mess!'
Chasing Bob, Chris realised something grand,
Bob's Mum, was without a wedding band.
Ceasing the chase, smiling ear to ear, Chris thought he was in with a chance,
Until a man called out 'Come over here dear and see this special!'
Turning around Chris saw Bob, starting to dance, the chicken dance.
‘Cheeky little brat...’ Chris began to express, while Bob’s mum tapped him on the back.
‘How dare you!’ she screeched, “Get away from my boy, you freak!’’.
Blushing red, with all that was and wasn’t said, Chris apologised looking very meek,
As he turned to walk away, he tripped and fell over,
Dusting himself down he discovered, his shoelaces had been bound.
Looking into the distance Chris thought he saw Bob waving,
But discovered he had been pinned down by his older brother to stop him misbehaving.
Amused by this Chris thought ‘there is justice in the world’ and went back to his shopping bliss!
