Groundhog Day

January 31st 2010 13:17
Although I give little credibility to Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog, he remains a staple in the make-believe holidays that predict the end of winter. You can read about the history of this folklore here.

I don't believe this folklore even if it has a great average...which it doesn't. They pull the groundhog out of its enclosure in the morning darkness, which leads me to believe that the shadow it does see are from artificial lights! Still this is a tradition that some follow and look forward to the rodent's prediction.

Since it is a type of animal that is being exploited in a cruel way, Peta has a problem with the groundhog. Peta wants Phil to be replaced by a robot! I'm surprised they didn't say a puppet instead. If you Google the story you will find so many articles on the topic, and all go against Peta!

That's OK because Peta will find something else to exploit animals for their own publicity. Just a thought.

Guilt Free Fur

January 29th 2010 16:06
It seems that there is a fur animal that is being labeled 'eco-friendly' and may even get the approval of animal rights groups such as Peta. The nutria, a species of water rat, is an invasive species that is causing havoc in the swamps of Louisiana. Thousands are killed and the pelts are discarded. Might as well put these odd animals to good use and hide behind an environment friendly label!

There was a Seinfeld episode where Elaine tried to pass a nutria hat for an expensive one she bought for George from her work account. In the end the nutria hat fell apart because of a cheaper grade of fur. Whether that happens for real is anyone's guess. You have to wonder about animal rights groups that may endorse this fur.

The Human Apologetic

January 18th 2010 17:36
Nothing disgusts me more than when humans blame humanity for the predatory behavior of animals. A Great White shark attacks and eats a tourist. Apparently nobody saw the movie Jaws because they seem totally clueless to the predatory nature of sharks in general and Great Whites in particular.

Sharks are unpredictable and humans tend to become relaxed around them when they become tolerant for whatever reason. They are predatory and blaming people for their nature is absurd! Humanizing a predator and blaming humans for their nature is just dumb. People are to blame for their own demise for trusting a killer.
From the article:
Incredibly, lifeguards had to chase several people from the sea where this week's fatal attack happened.
So stupid people deserve what they get. Trust a predator, YOU, not US, is to blame! Swim in shark infested waters and don't ask me for pity.

Can anybody else spot how this will eventually lead to the global warming is to blame theme? Stay tuned.

Peta World

January 6th 2010 17:23
In the delusional world of PETA it seems that the group deems itself above the law when it comes to promoting its agenda. Copyrights infringement, image use without permission, etc., leave it to Peta to sideline permission for agenda!

It seems that Peta in its fanatical pursuit of its agenda has crossed the line. I mean you have to expect repercussions when you use the image of Michelle Obama in your anti-fur campaign without permission

Vegetarian Evolution

January 3rd 2010 17:00
Looks like PETA is going to have their hands full of interventions. Vegans and vegetarians will soon be at war over the new 'flexitarians!' Flexitarians are vegetarians that 'occasionally' eat expensive steaks and meats. Real meat, not the tofu or soy estrogen-generating-fake-meat!

The meat must come from grass fed and sustainably raised cows. Nothing like proving that they are true hypocrites

PETA Chronicles

December 11th 2009 20:29
Peta is intent on spreading its agenda in any form and means, and frankly doesn't care who it ticks off. Good for Peta, after all with celebrities' money backing you, you can pretty much afford anything. Using inappropriate props to spread your agenda, shows what kind of mentality you are dealing with. A fanatic with an agenda is a terrorist!

Using a naked celebrity as an angel using a crucifix to cover her privates, may not be a big hit. They still get get strategically naked to make some stupid 'meat is murder' point

Don't Dare Eat A Vermin

December 6th 2009 14:15
If you were trying to survive, would you kill and eat a rat? I would think about it if I were far from human habitations. I don't watch any of the idiot 'reality TV' shows, so I'm assuming that a show called 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here' is probably about a celebrity 'Survivor'-type show. I'm assuming that there is a British and American version. I assume this is the British version.

On the show, a celebrity chef cooked a rat for himself and his teammates. Needless to say that the chef caught, killed and cooked the creature while cameras rolled

Peta's Protests, Positions and Pardons

November 28th 2009 20:20
Some things are repetitive and redundant to the point of anger, annoyance and tears. PETA fits into these categories and then some!

The real downside is that Peta is a powerful organization with an ever increasing membership. Many celebrities have joined the ranks of Peta that promotes vegetarian and vegan diets as an alternative to meat. Nevertheless, Peta remains a radical organization intent on promoting its agenda to stop eating meat and using animals, or images, to exploit them for personal gain

Peta Watch: Protest 134870

November 4th 2009 19:27
If you think about it, it was just a matter of time before Peta would be involved with this one. An Oregon wildlife park is using elephants to wash cars. It seems that The Flintstones were from Oregon. Believe it or not, Peta doesn't have a problem with that.

The problem is that the elephants are being exploited and bullhooks are being used to train them. I have to say that I can go either way on this one!
