The protocol of the call back
February 20th 2009 02:14
Waiting and waiting for the phone to ring after you've submitted your application can be an anxious time.
To ease your mind you can ask a trusted friend that has a professional background what is the thing to do? Or if you can’t find the answer you can google in the question and find the answers that suit you.
So its been eighteen days since the closing date that I have applied for a job. I have already received a short letter that they have received my application and that the process of paperwork will take a few weeks. Waiting that long can feel like forever. Have they forgotton me? Is a message that circles my mind over and over.
Calling them back in five days shows that your interested and the employer will look favourably on your resume and they will remember your name. It doesn’t hurt to call.
But be mindful that you should sound friendly and not bring out a desperate vibe.
Follow the protocol of the job industry that you applied for.
Always thank the person who helped with your enquiry and remember their name for future reference ifyou need to make a call again.
Even if you don’t get the job and find you have been rejected don’t feel dejected and give up. You can use this as a learning curve and view as a way to improve for next time. Always ask questions and listen to what they say, write it down.
Now its all a matter of waiting to get a call for an Interview. That’s a different sort of preparation.
