Ohio Resident Jennifer Sorrent is in the Running for $10,000 National Contest
Yet small-town Ohio resident Jennifer Sorrent – a stay-at-home mom of three -- was floored nonetheless when she received an email letting her know that she won a spot in the running towards the $10,000 grand prize in the Treasured Recipes Contest sponsored by Chefs.com that she’d entered.
It was a bold move for 35-year-old Jennifer to submit the up-until-now secret family recipe for Sorrenti Spaghetti and Meatballs, but one that is paying off. The judges of the Treasured Recipes Content apparently liked the dish and Jennifer’s story behind it enough to place the Wadsworth, Ohio, resident in the top 100 slot:
“This recipe is my husband’s favorite dish and fondest memory of his childhood home,” Jennifer muses about her husband Dominick, a self-employed graphic designer.
“The recipe originated from my husband’s paternal grandmother, who brought the seeds over from Curinga, Italy, to recreate her garden of the essential Italian fruits: tomatoes and peppers,” Jennifer continues in her entry description.
