The Ongoing Saga of Sarah & Falte

Then he asked ‘How long have I been here and were there any other
survivors found?’
She shook her as she replied ‘I’m sorry you were the only one swept
from the sea and you have been here just over a day’.
‘No one at all!’ He shook his head sadly, looking downwards in despair.
He was quiet for a few moments while pondering this information
before asking ‘What is this land called?
‘It’s called Tasmania, it’s an island off the coast of Australia’ she
replied.
Once again he gave a puzzled look and Sarah asked ‘Where are you
from Hallion?’
‘I am or was from the land of Rios, lord of the high kingdom’ he
replied looking around the room.
This is all strange to me, your clothes, speech and what does this do?
He asked pointing to the table lamp.
Sarah suppressed a smile as she leaned over and flicked the switch,
with Hallion leaning back in surprise. Before he recovered, placing
his hand over the lamp shade, ‘There is no flame?’ He asked
curiously examining it carefully.
‘No it’s electric’ she replied with a giggle as she turned on the main
light switch.
This made him lean back and stare at the ceiling light in wonder
before he said ‘Amazing, please show me more’.
‘All in good time, but first how are you feeling?’ She asked
concerned.
‘Still weak in the legs but other than that I feel okay’ He told her
even thought he didn’t feel that great, he wanted to see more of the
wonders that she had shown him.
‘Then I have a surprise for you, so here are some clothes that should fit you and I will come back in a moment and help you down the stairs’ she told him pulling a shirt and jeans that were her brother’s from a drawer.
He looked at them puzzled as she passed them to him but as he
realised what they were, for the first time he gave her a smile, one
that was so warm and sincere it made her feel weak at the knees.
‘I’ll come back in a moment’ she replied before quickly leaving the
room, closing the door behind her.
Leaning against the hallway wall, she thought ‘Get a grip Sarah, he
smiles once and you go weak at the knees?’ But there was something
in that smile and in his eyes that touched deep inside of her.
And for a fleeting moment, she had the thought of what it might be
like to kiss him but shaking her head quickly to dispel that notion she
went into her room to finish dressing properly, her thoughts however did recall the dream from the night before and for a moment she felt her heart flutter.
Meanwhile Hallion sat staring at the door she had just left through,
for he had never seen anyone as beautiful as this woman Sarah and
he felt at a loss for words. For her smile was like the sun rising in the
morning, her eyes showed a loving nature and he couldn’t recall the
last time he had felt like that about anyone.
Quickly getting dressed and gritting his teeth against the pain he felt, he opened the door and stepped on to the landing, just as Sarah reappeared from her room.
‘Ready to go?’ She asked him, smiling as she took his arm, helping him down the stairs.
‘To go where?’ He asked plainly confused but intrigued all the same.
‘I’ll show you’ Sarah replied with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes as they entered into the kitchen where Sasha was busily chewing one of her shoes. The little dog looked at them both for a second before deciding that the shoe was more interesting and carried on chewing.
As they went outside, the sun shining brightly, Sarah led him to the path that led to the stables.
As they walked, she noticed he was taking everything in around him before stopping at her rabbit’s enclosure.
‘That’s Charlie’ she told him with a grin.
He gave her another one of those weak knee smiles as he knelt down for a closer look at the big white fluffy rabbit.
‘He’s cute’ Hallion replied grinning.
‘C’mon lets carry on’ she said to him, smiling.
‘Your garden is very nice’ he said to her as they passed various planters and flowers.
‘My favourite part is just coming up’ she told him eagerly.
They passed through a gap in the tall hedge and in front of them was a tunnel that was formed by an archway of living trees that had grown and intertwined their branches together. At it’s end stood a wall with a wooden gate that stood ajar.
‘This is amazing!’ Hallion said in awe as they walked slowly along, the sunlight shining gently through the softly swaying branches.
‘It’s called Lover’s Walk, the previous owner of the house designed it for his wife and as the trees grow and intermingle, they become one, supporting each other, just like a good marriage I would say’ she told him adding ‘Or that’s what he thought, telling me the story when I bought the house from him.
‘What do you think Sarah?’ He asked her, stopping and turning to look her in the eyes.
‘I, I’m not sure’ she replied, her heart beating faster and her breath catching in her chest as she looked into his eyes, the depth of his soul showing all too clearly and she could feel herself falling for the love that she could see within them.
They moved closer, his hand gently reaching for hers, goose bumps running down her spine as they touched.
‘You have shown me so much kindness, how can I repay you?’ He asked drawing closer to her.
She didn’t know how to reply, her heart was racing faster, knees feeling weak just at his touch, with her mind thinking about the dream.
Putting his other arm on her shoulder, he moved closer to her, smiling as she moved next to him.
He could feel himself being enchanted by her beauty, her smile and warmth she gave off, he so wanted just to kiss her but he had been brought up to respect woman so was hoping that she might make the first move.
Sarah learned forward, bringing her face closer to his, thinking ‘I just have to kiss him’ when suddenly there was a cry of ‘Hi guys’
and breaking out of the moment, she looked and saw Becky coming towards them.
