The New Year is Upon Us./ Game of the Year

It has been a while since my last post, and i apologize for that. I have been very busy and took a holiday over my break. Also, I have been reading a great deal for a project I am to start very soon. I apologize to my fans for being absent so long, but I am here to break that trend now.
I am very excited for this new year, not because of the games that are coming out, but rather for the games that I can catch up on. I know I complain a lot about not having enough time to play all the games that i want, but truly I don't have as much time as i would like. Over this break i have been on holiday and was away from most of my major forms of video entertainment., and I have had to dedicate a few hours to research. My belly-aching will certainly not sway your opinion of my laziness one way or the other, but I just thought that you should know that I am indeed trying my best to bring you top quality critiques made by some young punk. Any how, This new year will see a few new changes: I will expand the For Your Download section to add mobile devices, I will do a bit more movies/film reviews that are both olde and new (hopefully some more new ones), and I hope to be able to play more games that are released this very year so I can have a proper game of the year.
On that note, I would like to say that I find the awards ceremonies for video-games horrific. Not a critic or person who takes games seriously (too freaking serious, like yours truly) is ever happy with video-games awards shows that seem to be more of an excuse to jack-off a certain franchise or shamelessly whore out a trailer for a mediocre game. I think you all know what I am talking about here, so I won't name any one VGA's as the problem with video-game awards shows. Rather than naming one as the best this year I feel that as a community that there should be a set number of games that get the game of the year award; have one game be a video game of the year, but not THE game of the year, just one of the best games to come out this year. I understand people love lists and seeing their very favourite be put at the top of the heap, but I feel that because games can be so drastically different from one another that it is better to have a pool of great games and not one that stands out above the rest.
Okay, so the eight games that get the medal for game of the year for 2011 are: Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Arkham City, Mortal Kombat, (Ultimate or regular) Marvel Vs.Capcom 3, LA Nior, Catherine, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. These seemed to be the shimmering jewels this year and each one of these could arguably be "The Best" this year, but I think that not one out does the rest in quality. 2011 was a great year for games and I can't wait till all of the games this year are released.
