The Divine Warming Comedy

September 16th 2009 19:06
If I would have a reason to finally say that we really need to control the climate which we really can't control, this would be it. It has been affecting BEER quality since 1954. The quality of hops has fallen in major beer regions of Europe. In other words, the hops aren't worth adding them to the beer because alpha acid has dropped since 1954. I guess this is what gives great pilsner lagers their bitter taste.

I bet beer drinkers haven't noticed any difference. There are still drunks in the Czech Republic, Germany, and England to name a few. I'm not a big fan of hop dominated beers, but I have had a few recently that have a great potency and bitterness.

Even if the study is something to worry about, it will probably heal itself from this global warming phenomenon. Man didn't create it and can't stop it. Enjoy your beer and don't worry about it.

Cheers!

Global Warming Shortcut

September 13th 2009 12:49
Many know my opinion about global warming and I still stand behind it. Regardless what side of the argument one presents, global warming may have some advantages that are useful to many people. Lets look at the Arctic melting that is blamed on global warming.

The Arctic Ocean's ice cap melting may lead to shortcuts. It seems that this would be an advantage for trade and travel

Against The Norm-Personal Diary

September 11th 2009 18:47
After months of soul searching, I've finally decided to make a big change in my life. This decision will definitely affect my entire life in so many aspects. Here on Orble, for example, it will mean less writing. I've decided to go from the day shift to the graveyard shift. I just completed my third week, and it has been one hell of a roller-coaster ride.

Going against my own natural order is taking a toll, but I do seem to be adjusting rather nicely. I only had a couple of days where I didn't get enough sleep. This happened quite a few times when I was on days, too

Green Rhetoric

September 5th 2009 17:59
I wrote elsewhere where my utility company raised their rates due to people saving and conserving energy. If utility companies lose money because of your conservative functions they must raise their rates to pay 'their' bills, sort of speak!

So our greener-wieners continue to preach the never-ending rhetoric to stop our oil dependency. It will never happen. A Saudi prince urges US to recognize our oil dependency

Relationship Management

September 5th 2009 14:24
In any relationship there is always a probability of infidelity. Men are the most likely to be unfaithful. Or are they?

A new study suggests that women are the biggest cheats and the numbers are growing. They are better at lying and covering up an affair than men. They stay ahead of the game and anticipate risks, while men tend to be sloppy and more likely to be caught.

Environmentalists Disaster

September 4th 2009 18:22
Lets call it just a bunch of red tape. We all have been hearing about the California wildfires around Los Angeles. Now we find that Feds didn't clear brush in wildfire area.

So let the finger-pointing begin. A noteworthy quote from the article
