The Trillion Year Old Mother
March 21st 2009 19:42
Nobody can give an accurate age of the planet Earth. We can only guess and usually that involves an inconceivable lifetime of years. The Earth has no doubt seen its share of global warmings, ice ages, disasters, evolutions, extinctions, etc., and most happened before man appeared on the scene.
Still the world survives and some still blame mankind for the natural problems of today. If you still are drinking the "Global Warming" kool-ade, then you obviously don't live in the US that had a very cold winter. This will give a new perspective on warming and cooling and politics!
Natural disasters can occur anywhere and at anytime. Some are occurring as I'm writing this. Other volcanoes lie dormant for now.
It's not just about volcanoes. Or global warming and cooling. It's about our mother Earth and the natural phenomenons that have been occurring long before man. There are earthquakes and more earthquakes. More of the same.
If you think we got it bad now, take a look at some of the World's Worst Disasters.
To sum it all up, I will use the words of Billy Joel:
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it
The Earth can regulate itself and man can't change its course.
