The Natural Order - December 2008

My Generation

December 25th 2008 19:19
To most I would be considered a baby boomer, but somehow I never felt like I fit into that group. I missed out on a lot of the problems they caused but yet am associated with them. I wasn't part of any of their protests or any of their revolutions. More so than an actual baby boomer I was a late-bloomer that grew up in their shadows. I was just a number at the tail end of that generation.

We are about to redefine my generation and it may be largely due to President-elect Obama who was born in 1961. Meet the 'cuspers' or those born between 1954-1965!

This is my generation and my true identity. Being a 'baby boomer' made me feel like someone stuck in another person's body. I felt like I had to follow in someone's shoes that were impossible to fill because we did not share ideologies. This is something that needed to be said because not all baby boomers were involved in all the boomer fun. I was too young for Woodstock, riots, peace, Vietnam, Howdy Doody, summer of love, etc.

I can't explain how it feels to find my true identity when it comes to the generation gap. It almost feels like finally being able explain the out-of-place feeling when it came to my generation. Still I do feel a connection to the boomers.

I remember them but I was too young to participate. So don't blame me!

Man-Made Disaster

December 14th 2008 21:52
I've said it before that man is a cause of ecological disasters through conservation that should be a bigger concern than global warming. We feed the animals causing them to over breed to the point of an environmental disaster. Much like Animal Farm the animals have become the humans...fat and lazy. When we feed the animals we make them tend to be more lax and dormant rather than alert to possible danger. Food availability may be why geese tend to migrate south in less numbers. Their food and overall survival are made easy!

I've said that water fowl droppings near a shoreline are why swimmers get sick when they swim in that water. But geese are over reproducing and flooding highways to the point of slowing traffic because people don't want to be cruel and run them over!

Now KC has finally awaken to the fact that feeding geese is a problem. It's a small step in the right direction.

Pronounce Sentence...

December 11th 2008 01:05
I'm going to give you a case and let you judge what the punishment should be.

Eco warriors call police after they discover illegal logging. They did the right thing, didn't they? It's bad enough that one reason for global warming is the deforestation of the Amazon rain forest and all. Less trees more CO2 and all those other hypothesis.

Anyway, illegal logging should give someone the death penalty, don't you agree? Well I say lets put them in front of a firing squad. We hated the loggers who destroyed the habitat of a rare owl in the northwestern US.

Well leave it to beaver to hurt our precious environment.

Poster Child Evicted

December 7th 2008 18:08
How cute was Knut, the polar bear cub that served as a symbol of global warming? The key word is 'was'!

Since he doesn't bring in the crowds he once did, he now faces eviction. That's what happens when man decides to exploit animals to make money. People were drawn more to the fact that polar bears face extinction due to global warming rather than the treatment of an exploited animal in a zoo

If only there was a way to live over 150 years!

Good news, bad news

The global warming that was created by man has taken its first victim. The white possum may be extinct due to global warming. Forget the fact that it was rare. Forget that it was dubbed the "Dodo of the Daintree". It was global warming that caused its possible demise. Global warming caused by man, by the way!

If you read back at other entries of this blog you will find that unknown species have been discovered recently. Yet no one thanks global warming for that one. Perhaps most scientists are actually clueless when it comes to rare species and they sometimes fail to see species that already exist

New World Order

December 4th 2008 01:34
In our latest water-cooler-discussions at work, there is a topic that has sparked some vivid debate. It's about whether 9/11 was a conspiracy by the American government. Conspiracies are apart of all American aspects. People have been conspiracy minded about the government as long as people have distrusted the government.

The classic conspiracy of my lifetime had to do with President John F Kennedy. There are many types of conspiracies. There are the ones where the Feds accuse you of conspiracy. There are those that are a bit on the weird side. Finally there are the conspiracy theories and the conspiracy theories and you get the picture

Global Warming Mayhem

December 1st 2008 18:35
The global warning debate isn't going to go away anytime soon. The new UN fear tactics describe a world of war, hunger, poverty and sickness unless we change our ways. Ever notice how people want to lose weight in days even though it took them years to pile on the pounds? Let's say that man is causing this climate mayhem, it can't be reversed in a few years. The world is hoping President-elect Obama will do his part on climate change issues. I'm sure he will. The thing is that nobody is holding China and India accountable for their increasing emission of carbon gases.
