Israeli Snake Spa

October 24th 2008 00:31
I guess there is money to be made when it comes to the desperate and stupid. An Israeli health and beauty spa offers an unconventional message. It is called a Snake Message and some pay good money to have it done.

They seem to stress that the snakes used are not venomous. Still the reptile message is only soothing to the truly weird. Snakes, even clean ones, harbor diseases and bacteria that can easily be spread to humans. Harmless snakes can still bite. They might carry fleas, mites and ticks that can spread diseases.

Just my opinion on reptiles and the bored rich!

Animals Don't Have Rights

October 22nd 2008 20:07
People have a strange relationship with pets, animals, nature and even the ecosystem. Somehow they feel they are the protectors of innocent creatures. Creatures who in the wild survive on a moment-by-moment basis, need to be protected from man the aggressor. Somehow killing an animal, even in self-defense, will bring the wrath of the animal rights activists, because your life isn't worth the animals.

A man survives a bear attack, but now comes the animal rights onslaught. Of course, Peta denied involvement even though the tactics seem like their MO!

Snake In An Attic

October 20th 2008 22:54
A family lives in horror because of a snake in the attic. They got concerned after they found the second shed skin that was about 3 ft.! Experts seem to think it was a discarded or escaped pet. They just hope it isn't a venomous one.

I would be more concerned that a shedding snake means that it is a growing snake which means it has access to food. The food is usually of the rodent variety. Rodents pose more of a threat to human life than a secretive snake. The family wouldn't know that it was there if it wasn't for the second skin.

Find a herpetology society in your area or a pest control agency as they have the resources to find and capture snakes and other critters.

Death Map

October 20th 2008 20:38
Sooner or later, we will all meet the Grim Reaper. In Great Britain they have mapped out the geographical pattern of mortality. This is another way of saying that they can determine what you are more likely to die from based on where you live. This is really nothing new here in the US. We've had many studies about where you are more likely to die of cancers, traffic, suicide, etc.

Going Green

October 18th 2008 13:18
I don't always agree with the greener-world concept. I'm sure most know what I mean, if you've been reading my blogs. The thing is that I don't totally disagree with the concept. I'm just 'selective' about different things. I don't, for instance, think that all organic foods are worth the money, but I do think that some are. Then there are times that organics are cheaper.

If you feel that 'green' is your lifestyle, then have I found great information and sites for you! You can start here! I like this because it actually makes sense of going green, but not being die-hard about it

Suicidal Tendancies

October 12th 2008 14:01
Suicide is always a tragedy that leaves a stigma on those left behind. Discussions on the topic are usually very touchy in nature. At one time it was fairly rare(although suicide was usually kept silenced by the families), today it is fairly common and talked about. We have physicians discussing aiding patients with suicide, whether it is moral or merciful, etc., yet we can't slow it down.

Teen suicide, and their increasing numbers, seem to be an epidemic in all generations. It is during adolescence that we try to find who we are and what are our identities in life. Teens may be on top of the list, but noone is immune. Something I studied back in college psychology was that anyone determined to die, will

Dangerous Pets

October 6th 2008 19:04
In my lifetime I've owned a variety of exotic pets. Many successful and many not so. My first exotic pet was a turtle, that back in my days were kept in deplorable conditions. A salmonella outbreak eventually stopped their sales in pet shops.

I've had wild birds, exotic mammals, reptiles and amphibians. I don't really count fish but I've had them, too. I did wash my hands often anytime I came in contact with these pets or their cages

Environmental DIM Wits

October 5th 2008 15:48
I still feel like I'm repeating myself at times. I did mention the new flourescent bulbs that are suppose to help the environment. I told you they were more of a disaster to the environment because of the mercury content.

Well science just caught up to the obvious. I hope you're glad that you are doing your part for the environment by buying this $3 wonder bulb. Now see how much it will cost to get rid of this 'eco-friendly' disaster that might prove more costly than plastic at landfills.
