The Most Primitive Plants
December 6th 2010 07:50
Groups as follows are the most primitive of all plants- algae, fungi , bacteria, and slime molds. They reproduce by cell division or with spores. The plant body is made up of ribbons and masses, not divided into roots, steams and leaves. This kind of plant is called a thallophyte
Many of the thallophytes are one-celled plants and can be seen only under a microscope. Most of them live in places where they are difficult to observe- in water or dark, moist places and in the tissues of animals and other plants.
