The Monster Under the Bed (A Scary Story-Part Four)

"But, Mommy, I heard it! It was underneath my bed, chewing on my bedsprings!"
Tommy's mother laughed. "Tommy, that's ridiculous! There are no such things as monsters and if there were they'd do scarier things than nibble on bedsprings!"
"L-l-l-like what?" stuttered Tommy.
"Like...eat you up!" Tommy's mother teased. She made a terrible face, lunged towards Tommy and nibbled on his neck.
Tommy laughed. It wasn't often his mother was silly.
