The Natural Order - by signals

The Millioneth Blame For GW

May 23rd 2007 23:28
Again Global Warming is blamed for more woes. Too many figures are being used to exaggerate a natural phenomenon. Take this UN dribble. Read the first line: Human activities are wiping out three animal or plant species every hour and the world must do more to slow the worst spate of extinctions since the dinosaurs by 2010, the United Nations said on Tuesday.
If we wiped out 3 animal or plant species every hour life on earth would be extinct in a year or so. We tend to overlook this, this, this, and I could go on. Never fear because MAN will be the culprit of species becoming extinct. Again I'm skeptical of the Dodo!

Of course it is always MAN'S FAULT. Case in point is the newly discovered hummingbird that is already being threatened with extinction! Who do they blame? From the article:However, the researchers are worried that the particular habitat of the new bird could mean its survival is in balance. During their surveys in the Serrania del Pinche, they noticed increasing slash-and-burn agriculture and coca fields.
A species that has illuded man until now may have better survival skills than they are given credit for.

How about this article? I agree for the most part. Moreso than GW, I believe that infectious diseases will be spread by the fact that nature considers man a food source and a fool. Animals are becoming too lax when it comes to man , and man loves being around nature and drawing nature to his dwellings.

...only time will tell!

I always find these climate sceptics fascinating. This one talks about UN "dribble." The people who make these claims are some of the most eminent in their fields and yet these sceptics dismiss their warnings as "dribble." On what basis do they come to such conclusions. Do they have any expertise in the particular field? Mostly no. Here in Australia we have been going through the worst drought in our history. Climaste change or a natural phenomenon? Personally, having no background in such things, I do not personally know, but I have read the conclusions of some of the most knowledgeable of climate scientists and they blame climate climnate change. Personally, I give much more credibility to the scientist than the ignorant. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it is a mater of judging the worth of that opinion.
