Watching bored guys

I love to watch bored guys. I'm constantly amazed at what they come up with to alleviate said boredom.
I try to avoid making generalizations at all costs, but I have to say that the way males handle boredom is quite a bit different than the way females do--in my observation, anyway.
Bored males of all ages and social backgrounds seem to either 1) get into trouble, or 2) invent or perfect some cool but totally useless thing.
All of those tricks you see guys do in bars, like flipping a cigarette into the mouth or snapping a Zippo open one handed..making a rose out of a bar napkin, or a ring out of a dollar bill; all of these took a lot of time to learn.
Spinning a ball on one finger, twirling the sticks while playing drums, spinning a 180 degree turn when bringing the car to a sudden stop...even down to spitting a perfect end-over-end loogie for the farthest distance; these are all things that can be traced back to--that's right--bored guys finding a way to pass the time.
As for the getting into trouble part, many Darwin awards have been given out to bored guys. You just don't see a lot of women featured on the Darwins, unless they were under the influence of something. Take for example the bored guy in Brazil who tried to disassemble a rocket grenade by running over it repeatedlywith his car. (Darwin Awards, Aug. 2006) When that didn't work, he pounded on it several times with a sledgehammer, which did work. Very well.
You just can't beat watching a bored male for sheer entertainment value.
