The loss of a good friend

Throughout my hacking adventures of the past year, I have heavily relied on a constant source of help and motivation, my EEE netbook.
This small laptop went everywhere with me: Florida, Michigan, the top of Oak Mt, and almost the bottom of Oak Mt.'s river...
One of the best features of my EEE was the durability. Much abuse was withstood before it finally broke: being dropped, thrown off the roof of my two storey house, run over by a bike, and tossed into a river.
And what killed it? Overheating. almost a month after the river incident, the fan stops working. The computer is normally so quiet that I didn't notice, then it turned off and stayed off.
Now its back at the ASUS ICU and may or may not be repaired and sent back on warranty.
