Skipping
running
hopping.
Playing with frogs
and tadpoles, too.
A rainbow,
dreams on a bed
of grass,
The rain on my skin.
The smell of lilacs,
a gentle breeze,
Tigerlillys sweet taste.
Hopscotch,
climbing trees,
These things bring
a lightness of being
I will not forget.
When days are dark,
when times are hard,
a remembrance...
of these things.
A smile breaks
and all is
good again.
No need to remember
today.

No doubt! My greatest memories are of my childhood home and the creek that ran adjacent to the property. I was always in the creek, with my nose in a book, a fish on the hook or a notebook! *smile*

I needed a makeover...lol
I am feeling enormously inspired as of late. Thank you for noticing, my friend. (Just thrilled to bits with that thing I told you about discovering...just amused and delighted! *smile*)
About the crawdads...well, it just didn't fit in with the lyrical quality of the poem...lol Not a pretty word...not that frogs is, either...but the truth had to be told...lol

That's a great idea to create a look that defines the purpose of the blog. It's a very strong, clear look. I keep meaning to do something to mine, but haven't got around to it yet....aah, but I will soon.
