The Hourglass

My life is yours and your life beyond mine,
The angels for whom my purpose flows.
Sand slips away, my children grow.
Four gifts given me,
Only one simple plea.
Just turn back the time,
Keep them all mine.
Say goodbye,
Let go,
Know.
Soar high,
You can fly.
This job well done,
Tough battles were won.
Life is yours now to live,
Be kind, give to give.
Live long, have a story to tell,
Remember mistakes, love long, live well.
My life for yours and your life beyond mine.
The angels for whom my purpose flows.
Sand slips away, my children grow.
Four gifts given me,
Only one simple plea.
Just turn back the time,
Keep them all mine.
Say goodbye,
Let go,
Know.
Soar high,
You can fly.
This job well done,
Tough battles were won.
Life is yours now to live,
Be kind, give to give.
Live long, have a story to tell,
Remember mistakes, love long, live well.
My life for yours and your life beyond mine.

I have often asked myself the same thing. When they are first born, you think it seems an eternity before they will be on their own and then you blink and wonder where the time went..and if you did your job well...
Here's to the universal experience of mothers...

Once again, a superb piece.
Never doubt if you've done your job well, for u have.
Those children......they shine....each from their own light, & that is how it should be. But being the wonderful, loving mother u are, have instilled in them, the knowledge & self-awareness, that they are worthy beings, & have reason to go forth, & be productive humans, in whatever endeavor crosses their paths. Keep up the good work, in both of these areas.
Love, Moonbeam
