America is a highly competitive society. It seems like our citizens are willing to do whatever it takes and hurt whoever they need to hurt just to make more money, become more successful or achieve other personal goals. It seems like we as a society are becoming more and more self-centered and less and less others-centered. What has happened to us? It's a shame.
Jesus teaches us that the true measure of success is not in what kind of a fancy sports car we drive or how nicely our lawn is manicured. He set the example himself by being the greatest servant that ever lived. He put others before himself. If we could only do the same. Well, maybe we can.
My challenge to you today is to look for a new way that you can serve someone else. It might be as simple as encouraging them when they have a bad day, giving them the better parking spot when it's raining or something like that. Whatever you chose, try to think about what Jesus, the ultimate servant, would do if he were in your shoes.
