The Great Unknown
December 18th 2006 02:52
Life is every persons great unknown. Tomorrow can bring something completely different to a person’s life. The only thing that obstructs this possibility is whether a person chooses to embrace it or ignore it. Everyone can think back in his or her life and remember one decision they have made that would have changed who they are, what they are, completely. They can think back and realize that a bad judgment in the past created the hell they call their life. They might realize that good judgment lead them doing a path that gave them everything they ever dreamed of. Only if it were that simple.
Although one decision can start a downward spiral in a person’s life, it is the person’s choice to let the original decision repeat itself over and over again perpetuating the spiral. One right choice can momentarily stop the cycle. Continued right choices can reverse in all together. Off course that to is too simple.
External forces can play into everyone’s life. It may be a greed filled employer who pays his employees lint. Or a random act of kindness directed at a person. No action is too large or too small to affect another’s life. The external variables in life that can cause drastic changes in a person’s ability are the people they surround themselves with. Whether they want the others around or not, they are there and there is nothing one can do to change it. Well other than complete isolation, but that is something that most try to avid even momentarily. By nature every person is a social creature.
A brief examination of everyone’s greater unknown brings more things into the picture than ever thought of in the first place. No one can truly see what the future has to hold for them. They may be able to take an educated guess at what might come to be, but there is always something else there that a person is unable to see which has even a greater say in the outcome. No one can predict the actions of another no matter how well you think you know that person. No one can fully predict the actions they themselves will take since they can’t see all the factors that motivate them. Life is unpredictable. Life is the great unknown.
