The Frazzled Writer - by Susan Thompson 1

Am I mad or just insane!

November 17th 2007 10:58
Sitting here it is 10pm or thereabouts. I am chasing down writing opportunities and it is Saturday night. Instead of sitting in front of the television or going out with friends, the kids are in bed and I am putting this post up.

Being a writer is at times wonderful and rewarding. Other times is in incredibly frustrating and I want to tear my hair out. Balancing a career, working from home with the rugrats under feet is in itself a huge challenge.

I wouldn't have this any other way! Yes, I do become "Frazzled" and question my sanity. You know am I mad or just pure insane? Come to think of it as a writer we are all a bit that way. I look at is being able to juggle many projects whilst attempting to put together a illusion of normality. The cap that says "I can do anything".

People all have something of value to say and contribute. That is one of the things I love about reading other blogs. I get to read interesting information, learn about the world and meet interesting people.

Enough of rambling, this database won't wait and I have the coffee calling me. Coffee at times is my best friend - many late nights and early mornings shared over the years.

Some Thoughts for Today..

Nothing can hurt you unless you give it the power to do so.

Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is?
- Will Rogers

‘We grow great by dreams.
All big men are dreamers.
They see things in the soft haze
Of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winters evening.
Some of us let our dreams die but others nourish and protect
Them, nurse them through bad days till they bring them to sunshine & light.
- Woodrow Wilson

Death is a very positive force because it tells me I have limited time. No one will get out of this world alive. But there are some of us who actually believe we will. We act as if we have forever! I’ve always wanted to climb a mountain…I’ll do it tomorrow”. You may not”
