Queensland’s Engine of Death. Amoral or just good business?

October 6th 2006 08:49
It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on. — Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Metal Storm was invented by a Brisbane Grocer. This unassuming man by the name of O’Dwyer has created the most frightening weapon short of tactical nuclear missiles ever conceived. Metal storm technology contains no moving parts except the bullets. It can deliver a million of these every minute. This will make O’Dwyer one of the richest men in Australia. As usual the inventor believes that he is making a significant contribution towards the peace effort. In this one is reminded of the murmurings of Gattling the hapless inventor of the first machine gun. The beneficiaries of Gattling were the innocent people of Africa and Gattling delivered to them the benefits of colonialism.

Lately O’Dwyer, who like many unassuming and uninteresting little people of his ilk, has developed a taste for notoriety and he has now revealed to the world that the Chinese are interested in Metal storm, as if we could not have worked this out ourselves. After all the Chinese have the most people to kill and are always good at turning a profit, hence the quote from Sun Tzu.

It is now proposed that the beneficiaries of metal storm will be the people of Iraq and Afghanistan. It is thought to be the best form of urban control available.

The concept of metal storm technology is so terribly frightening that it is thought that any army that finds itself opposed to it will be too terrified to march. When it is realized that metal storm will turn a human body into a very fine red mist this is not hard to understand.

The various Governments of Australia and the US as well as O’Dwyer himself, are untroubled by the notion that they have gone one step further than Oppenheimer and his Manhattan Project. The scientists that invented the atom bomb were haunted for the rest of their lives, not so our leaders and inventors today. This is merely good business.

We as a people must protest against this. There is little sign that voices are being raised in any of the media against a weapon that will :-

Make tanks useless and obsolete
Turn whole buildings instantly into dust.
Cause thousands of soldiers to disappear so completely there will be no way their bodies can be identified.

It will be set up on towers surrounding countries like the USA so even planes and missiles will be able to be stopped before they enter the country reduced to iron filings.
Perhaps this technology is so immoral that none of us understand that we should have it banned.
