The Dying Willow
December 11th 2008 04:27
This poem, I feel expresses the pain
and suffering of depression. It slowly kills
the inside of a person.Makes them feel like
they have already died. That they have no
room to grow in life. That no amount of time
will ever give back, what they've lost.
The Dying Willow
I gazed
upon a willow,
whose leaves
had reverted brown.
For, it bore the weight
of inward hate
till, its branches
brushed the ground.
Day by day
it withered, within.
Afraid to breath!
Whilst, shades of
gray lingered aloft,
and its knotted parts
deceived.
For
they viewed the
scenes of yesterday
as, though, they were
the ' word '
blocking out tomorrows,
with a heart, so, full of hurt.
Eventually, it grew weary
and its leaves began to fall.
Till,
bare it stood, before the world
without ,a doubt.
That destiny had been set,
absent, room for branching out!
and suffering of depression. It slowly kills
the inside of a person.Makes them feel like
they have already died. That they have no
room to grow in life. That no amount of time
will ever give back, what they've lost.
