The Dirty Bird

I did something today, something Craaaazy!
I went to KFC.
Then I ATE KFC.
I enjoyed it, I had a high and now...
...I am experiencing the low.
Why did I do it? as a rule I hate this stuff I never touch it my body is a temple and all that. I dig on my healthy foods and I keep filling my body with them.
SO why?
Peer pressure; partly, buyt mostly the excuse to get out of work for lunch.
It worked a treat.
Would I reccomend it, I don't know. It sure was a treat and the people I went with a true enthusiasts...I mean I was scoffed at for eating a burger..."not real chicken" they said
"you really need a peice of chicken with a bone through it. (oh and yes, I realise how suss that sounds).
You know I think I may even be ousten from the "bird lovers" group for talking about it...I threatened to start my own club but they didn't buy it...besides I haven't even sold myself on it - how could I make others join.
That's besides the point...the important thing here is how could I have done something so out of character?
Well firstly I think you should always do things that are out of character...well not always but enough times for them to be out of character...and secondly, I wanted to see what the chicken lovers see. I don't know if I can be a cirdman or woman...not entirely, I'm too in love with the non fried side of life, but I can learn to understand them.
And i think that is enough for people in general. Just try to understand.
have you tried anything different lately?

KFC sounds yummy, I haven't had any for years.
Recently I had a Vienna Schnitzel, dutch style, with some very unusual potatoes and a salad that was not recognizable as such, it was a very finely grated dish of cabbage of sorts, perhaps a sauerkraut. It was rather more expensive than I can usually afford.
I followed it with Cheese strudel but found myself with some baked cheesecake, instead, cheese strudel, a good one is wonderful and much different but I didn't want to make a fuss, just wanted to enjoy myself with a friend who ordered something much more nourishing, exceptionally good value for money, half the cost of what I had paid and didn't have any sweets. She had a coffee which I never drink.
But it was a time of indulgence of food not very good for my body, brought back distant memories, and made me feel a little regretful about certain things.
But it was certainly something different, which answers your question.

Fast food has been around since the 40s/50s. As a kid in the 80s my family would drop into McD's as a treat or the soccer team would head there for post game Happy meals. There certainly wasn't the bruhahaha back then about obesity as there is now.
The food hasn't really changed, in fact it has probably gotten slightly healthier with all these trans fats and menu changes. Something else has changed in the last 10 years and I'm not sure what. Less physical activity, greater consumption of fast food, attitudes,.. I donno. Why has obesity suddenly become a problem now?
