The Dawn
December 28th 2008 03:42
Seedling darkness, in my mind,
Let me go just one last time,
Free me or give me a sign,
How I can gain control.
If you give me one more chance,
We once again may deign to dance,
Drop the reigns, I'll drop the stance,
I just want to be whole.
Yet alas, it cannot be,
For darkness grasps mercilessly,
I must forget this "liberty",
That some claim still abounds.
Is there no-one who can aide?
I'm all alone, cold, afraid,
I started green, but now am jade,
They've left me to the hounds.
And when my hope is all but gone,
I peer across a dew-kissed lawn,
And suddenly, I feel the dawn,
This day, I carry on.
Let me go just one last time,
Free me or give me a sign,
How I can gain control.
If you give me one more chance,
We once again may deign to dance,
Drop the reigns, I'll drop the stance,
I just want to be whole.
Yet alas, it cannot be,
For darkness grasps mercilessly,
I must forget this "liberty",
That some claim still abounds.
Is there no-one who can aide?
I'm all alone, cold, afraid,
I started green, but now am jade,
They've left me to the hounds.
And when my hope is all but gone,
And suddenly, I feel the dawn,
This day, I carry on.
