The Blue Whale

The blue whale is considered a mammal. It is usually around 30 metres in length, and weighs over 180 metric tons. It is the largest animal on earth.
It's body is long, slender, and coloured blue. It lives in the North Atlantic, Noth Pacific, Indian, and Southern Ocean. It lives on krill. In the past it has almost been hunted to death, however in 1966 it became a protected species. In 2002 it was estimated there are around 5000 - 12000 left in the world.
