The Black Spot In Ashley's Room

January 27th 2012 00:06
Ashley walked home one afternoon. The shadows hung long as she walked. It was a very low cast afternoon. She felt as though it had already begun to grow dark and dim. She felt a shiver inside of herself as she walked. She felt her skin crawl. She didn't want to suffer any longer. All she wanted to do was run! However she walked at a leisurely pace. There were people around and it made the afternoon less scary. When she grew scared she held her breath. Then all was calm.

Ashley sighed as she reached the house. She felt the world was better. The ice cool of the house made her feel good. She smiled, and then she moved towards her room. She loved her room! There was every single comfort the world could offer inside of her room! There were drawing kits. There were toys. There were heaps of things! Ashley enjoyed all the singular items when she reached her room.

“I can now play!” signed Ashley as she moved inside of her room and began to pick up some of her favourite toys.

Ashley began to play. The play made her feel very good. She enjoyed it a whole lot. She enjoyed the good time it gave her. She made one toy talk to another, and then she built up a whole story. She became absorbed in the play. She drifted off on a fantasy where no one else could follow. She smiled as she did so, however then her smile stopped.

Ashley looked ahead and saw a shadow in the corner of her room. It looked black, like some kind of ink spot, but she was not sure about it at all. She glared at the shadow as it lingered awkwardly. The sunlight was spilling in through the window, it made no sense that it should be so dark there!

Ashley got up and moved to the shadow. She placed her hand on it, and immediately her hand sank into the wall! Ashley gasped, and pulled her hand back! As she did she saw her hand was not there. Ashley began to scream! Her scream alerted the house!

“I can't believe it!” her father exclaimed as he shook his head left and right. “I can't believe it at all!” he gasped.

Ashley looked at her hand, or the place where there was no hand. She began to weep once again, and her cries brought an angered look from her father. She stifled her cries, and simmered in her misery. Her father had no remorse, he couldn't understand she was scared and confused.

“Well to understand it I might have to touch it myself!” told her father as he looked to the wall.

Her father touched it with a rude hand. He leaned so hard that he slipped on his balance. He fell through the wall, and disappeared. Ashley gasped!

“Oh!” she exclaimed as she glared at the inky spot with startled eyes. “I've lost my father!” she muttered as she glared at the spot and shivered. “He's gone for good!” she exclaimed before she began to sob.

Ashley sobbed all afternoon. As the hours passed her eyes grew ever more weepy. She was unable to stop her cries. When he mother came home there was a flood by Ashley's feet. Her mother became startled and tried to calm Ashley with cuddles and sweet song. But Ashley couldn't stop. All she could think of was how there was no more hand, and how her father had disappeared! She began to bawl until her eyes leaked tears like a garden sprinkler leaked water. It made her mother very upset, and she began to grow worried that Ashley might be ill.

“If only your father was here! He would know what to do!” her mother declared.

Ashley began to bawl again. Her cries made her mother shiver. She could feel something cool upon her spine, and she thought it was worry. However it was her husband in invisible form. He had crawled back through the place to where he fell, and he was invisible.

“Maybe I should call the doctor!” her mother declared before she turned and left.

Ashley sobbed and sobbed. Within an hour the doctor returned. The doctor spoke with Ashley and after fifteen minutes Ashley told him that her father had fallen through the black spot in the wall and that she had lost her hand touching it. Ashley showed the doctor her missing hand, and the doctor shrieked. His cry brought Ashley's mother running into the room, and she gasped and clutched at her throat as she saw the missing hand.

“It's witchcraft!” he mother cried as she stepped back. “Witchcraft!” she repeated as she stepped closer to a train set Ashley had left in the corner of her room.

Her mother soon tripped and she stumbled. She stumbled towards where the inky black spot was. She hit it with a thud and fell through. Ashley and the doctor screamed as she disappeared. Ashley sobbed, and so did the doctor!

“It's true!” the doctor cried. “It's true!” he declared.

“She's dead!” Ashley declared.

The doctor hugged Ashley as he sobbed. She sobbed also unable to stop. Their tears flooded the floor, and made the hems of their clothes wet. They were unable to stop, so high was their shock.
