It's in a library of a cruise ship. I was enjoying my metaphysical reading with my computer on, reading while listening music. Out of nowhere, a small little girl walked to me, and curiously take a look at my computer, perhaps a type that she had never seen before, then she looked back at me and left.
I was inspired and awed, to see how she could have done that. To see so close an object that belongs to a stranger right in front that stranger may requires a lot of courage and bravery for us adults, while she did it out of ordinariness and with ease. There's something wonderful in her state, there was something that was not present in her, the fear.
Fear is what makes us adults very different from children. Fear is what limits us, constrains us, obstruct us, and is what hold us back. Fear in its many forms, such as traumas, worries, judgements, distrusts and so on, is what makes most of us not really able to enjoy this wonderful world as much as children do. Fear is what makes teenagers and adolescents not being playful innocently with their fellow friends, be it of their same sex or opposite sex. Fear is what creates the gap between male and female, and that same gap between strangers.
Try to remember again, perhaps there was a time or two in our life when we re-experienced such state, that state of innocent-ness and fearlessness in our life? Do you remember how much bliss it was? Even the Taoist master exclaimed that we should live out our life with the innocence of a child, and Jesus said in his teachings that only the one who carries a child with him can enter the kingdom of God. I'm sure the kingdom of God he mentioned symbolically refers to that state of blissful living that we can attain right now in this very lifetime.
But don't we need some amount of fear for our survival? No, we should understand that fear is different from caution, being in fear is different from being cautious. One may be cautious without necessarily being in fear. On the other hand, one who is in fear has very little chance for survival and problem-solving. Do we remember when we got in fear, we could hardly even think logically? And when we got calmed down, we started saying, "Ah, how foolish i was, i should have thought of doing this and that, it was actually that simple!", this shows how much fear can cripple our survivability.
As we grow older and older, we encounters more and more situations and events. In some cases, we could hardly move over it, and when it was all over, it got slumbered in our consciousness as traumas, be it physical or emotional or mental traumas. It hold us back, cripple us from our wholeness that whenever any similar situation happens, the trauma mechanism was triggered, it was the natural way of the body to protect itself anyway, and most of it happens out of our control. Indeed it is, because traumas do not resides in the conscious realm, it lives in our subconscious realm. To break into pieces the trauma, we have to delve deeper into our consciousness, we can't solve it from the conscious realm, because the roots are not there. Once we destroy the roots, the tree will stop growing back and will die.
Albert Einstein, the famous and most celebrated genius, provided an insight on this, he proposed that a problem could not be solved from the same or lower realm from where it is created. Take science equations for example, to solve a mathematical or physics problem of an object at two dimension calculations are more complicated and takes more time than solving the same object seen in three dimension. It is also a well known theory in the world of physics that says that the higher the dimension of the calculation, the easier and less complex the whole process becomes. The science and physics in 4-D are much more simpler than those in 3-D the physics said, but still though we got some idea how 4-D realm is through mathematics, our mind is still far behind to grasp it in reality.
So, to clear up the traumas, we have firstly to get ourselves in touch with the our higher consciousness, we have firstly to understand that who we are, are not just mere collection of flesh, neurons, bones, and blood. This is what spirituality is all about. We are not our body, we are not our mind, we are not our personalities and egos, but who we truly are is not bound by time and space and condition, the real us resides in realm of eternity and infinite, and we access that level of consciousness through the NOW! It's the key. How in specific, just grab Eckhart Tolle's wonderful great life-changing book, "The Power of Now!" It's something you wouldn't want to miss!
Moving into that Now would mean heaven on earth, at least heaven for yourself, regardless of the external happenings around you. You are untouchable by anything by then! Because when you get to who you really are, you are independent of time, place, and conditions. But let's imagine more, imagine if everyone does get to that too! How wonderful our earth will not? With literally no more 'strangers' in our living vocabulary and living playfully in love and harmony with one another. And it all starts from each of us now, to live who we truly are, moving past all the obstructions that come by, for our true essence is freedom! As much as the pure unobstructed heart of a child.
