Yes Bitter Melon is very bitter.
But still i have an indian recipe for u which will make even the bitterness into a tasty one...
You can even keep this it outside without fridge for more than a week...
Here we go...


Ingredients :

* Bitter Gourd 1 cup sliced [round shape]

* Onion 1 cup sliced
* Mango Powder
* Coriander Powder
* Red chilli Powder
* Turmeric Powder
* Sugar
* Salt
* Oil [1/2 cup]

Preparation :

* Pour oil in a pan
* Add Bitter gourd
* Fry till it becomes little brown[not black]
* Now add sliced Onion [Quantity of both onion and bitter gourd must be equal.. you can even add more onion if u want]
* Fry it till onion becomes little brown... [see to that both bitter gourd and onion must not become dark brown/black]
* Then add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
* let it cook for sometime to observe the masala inside.
* Then add 1 or 2 tsp of sugar[can add even more as per ur taste].
* At the last add 1/2 tsp of Mango powder and cook for 2mins.
* Taste it. If u still find it bitter u can add little more mango powder.
* Thats it! you can have it with bread/roti/rice.

Many who lives in cold place will find more difficult to make curd [especially for them who love to have curd even in winter] here is the easiest way to make curd in few hrs.

* milk should be very hot [more heat than u prepare for summer].
* pour it immediately in any thermaware, insulated food server.

* add curd [more than u usually add for summer]
* mix well
* close it immediately and keep it aside.

Ur curd will be ready within few hrs.

Spicy Tomato soup

There are different kinds of tomato soups. Here is the one which i like the most. It is so good to have it in the winter season.

Ingredients :

*4 Tomatoes medium sized
*Garlic 4 cloves
*1 tsp of Peppercorns
*1 tsp of Cumin seeds
*Turmeric Powder
*Red chilli Powder
*Red gram dal
*Water
*Salt to taste


For tempering :

*Mustard seeds
*Asafoetida
*4 Red chillies
*Coriander leaves
*Curry leaves
*Oil/Ghee

Method :

* Boil Red Gram dal in two cups of water until it is fully boiled, filter the water and keep the filtered water aside.
* Boil the tomatoes in one cup of water for few mins and peel off the skin.
* Squash the tomatoes, extract the juice and keep it aside.
* Fry Garlic cloves, pepper, cumin seeds in a little oil/ghee and grind it to a paste.
* Now heat a sauce pan add tomato juice and the paste. Boil for about 12-15mins.
* Add half of teaspoon of Tamarind powder, Red Chilli powder.
* Boil it for few mins and add the water filtered of dal.
* Add few Coriander leaves & salt.
* Do the tempering with mustard seeds, asafoetida, red chillies, curry leaves with oil/ghee.
* Ur spicy tomato soup is ready.
