The Aftermath

September 16th 2006 06:56

Another night, another time and once again we sit and stare at the empty room that sits before us during the aftermath of a drinking session we’d like to forget. Hangovers! Everyone gets them, some deny them and some embrace them.

The embarrassment of a conversation, the reminder of a moment, it’s an undignified experience that usually leads to moments of turmoil. Even a realist believes in controlling this habit, but how it likes to prosper in our darkest moments. Apparently there is a cure there are many hangover cures, still to find one that actually works. There are some that like to embrace the phenomena and pretend that it simply does not exist and there are others that will moan and groan until it prevails.

It’s much the same even after great preparation. Planning and preparation gives you time and strength but the battle begins well after the fight. If you sit and stare you will be consumed, if you move and dare you could be overcome. For this is a power no mortal can control it therefore becomes imperative to welcome the aftermath and enjoy the nights as they come along.

Feeling somewhat the same?? Check it out!

Incognito, you seem so aware of the possibilities of a drinking session gone bad...

Have you ever done something you really regret when you're drunk? Perhaps in your apparent wisdom and experience you have learned how to sequester any behaviours that in hindsight (ie during hangover time) are obviously detrimental.

Sorry for the sarcasm above, but I honestly do not think people (and that includes Jonny W) actually honestly regret their behaviours and so continue them, thus becoming experts in the field of hangovers.

Most people who drink have a tale or two to share, weather it be good or bad. The strength of such a character is determined by his or her ability to counteract such situations with the scrutiny to change and mature as one gets older.
