The adventures of Sha Na Na, Shaniqua and Gina G
Sometimes it is not where you plan to go that makes a trip fun, but the people you take along and where you end up. Sha Na Na, Shaniqua and Gina G had such an adventure on Friday June 22, 2007.
The Plan was for Sha Na Na and Shaniqua to get together after a long work day and go to Shaniqua's house to change into some fun cloths and then pick up Gina G on the fly to Westlake, Ohio to find Dave and Busters. Good food, video games, racing, skeeBall and more...sounds like a great time for these playful girls.
Shaniqua drove with directions in hand. OK, so we missed the first turn off after 22 miles on the Ohio turnpike. Shaniqua just asked the toll booth women for a little help. She had no problem giving them directions. That was good because Gina G was starving. So, Shaniqua missed another turn off...Gina G, Sha Na Na and Shaniqua needed an alternate plan after being on the road almost three hours.
It is easy to find something fun to do in Cleveland on a Friday night, Shaniqua thought. Then she saw a familiar sight. A sign for East 55th street. She suggest to the others they go to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. It is located off of East 9th street only a few blocks up. But Shaniqua new they could get there from Broadway so they got off on that exit.
It was only 8pmish when they ended up in the Ghetto part of town. They stopped at "McRonald's" (Coming to America reference). Goofy young white girls in an all Black neighborhood...But they needed that bathroom break. Shaniqua got her barings and just realized she went the wrong way on Broadway. They were at the Hard Rock Cafe with in minutes.
Shaniqua dropped Sha Na Na and Gina G at the door and went to park. By some miracle a parking spot right next to the Hard Rock. With some careful maneuvering Shaniqua parked the car and joined her friends. They had some great food and took some more goofy pictures. It was Gina G first trip to the Hard Rock Cafe so she had to look around and visit and buy something from the gift area.
Then they went for a walk. Shaniqua and Sha Na Na perfectly comfortable with the Cleveland area since they had played there before and both went to the Cleveland Clinic just strolled along taking in the sites. Gina G was a little apprehensive at first but quickly got into the flow of the atmosphere and danced through the streets with her friends.
They ventured into one bar for a bit. A little dancing, a restroom break, some slit flirting with two guys and more pictures were taken. But all fun times must end eventually and they had to head home. It took about an hour and a half to get home over taking about three hour to get to the destination they didn't know they were going.
