That's My Bloomin' Plot

All Gardening Australia fans will remember with fondness Peter Cundall's parting phrase, 'Well, that's your bloomin' lot!' - for those who don't, you are the ones who are either under 25 or have interesting lives.

I have always felt akin to Peter, because in my eyes he delivered gardening in a friendly grandfatherly fashion. When I eventually saw him interviewed on Enough Rope, he spoke of life in such a way that went far beyond gardening, quite philosophically and I really understood what he meant. He spoke about how digging in the earth is really 'grounding' and puts a lot of the trivial issues of life into perspective. So when in doubt, I dig.

I love having cut flowers in the house and have always enjoyed reading about Sarah Raven's cutting garden (pictured above), so when Mr Front Door built a vegetable plot this week

I was surprised with a triangle cutting garden plot for my very own.

Now some girls favor diamonds and convertible european cars, but I am very happy with my plot. The first thing I did was consult my 'Mr Fothergill's Growing From Seed' book and now I have Godetia, Phlox, Zinnia and Cosmos germinating.

And hopefully by Christmas, that will be a bloomin' lot.

Awe that's sweet Judy...

God, I'm under 25, but I've seen my fair share of Gardening Oz lol.

I've got a little plot outside the back door, but it's filled with Agave's, Flat jacks & other succulents, some cordalines and a few of my own sculptures.

Hope ur little cutting plot goes well
