Tea Party? Coffee Party?

Primitive Poly-Pontifications
Really? How many soft drink themed political action groups do we need holding rallies and making signs? The nation could face a serious poster board shortage if this trend continues.
I think I'll make a sign protesting all the protesters. I'll be the founding member of The Milk Party. Because milk is awesome. Don't argue, you know it's true. Here's proof:
I'm sure I can whip up a partisan agenda full of controlling and horrifying tales about what the "other guys" are trying to do as a call to arms...erm, I mean signs. Yes a call to witty, if inaccurate, signs.
I understand the logic behind adopting the name of an actual, historic event, brought on by a national outrage with roots in a noble cause. the original Boston Tea Party conjures thoughts of justified rebellion against oppression. We mostly admire the folks who participated in chucking the King's goodies in the harbor.
Tea Party Then:
Today's Tea Party is a hollow echo which has taken a once proud name and twisted it and bastardized it to fit their most recent political agenda. If you can't be better than the original, then be original. Oh, and how about we throw in some diversity, as well. The average modern day Tea Party member is above average in education, social standing and income. A polar opposite to the original Tea Party folks.
Tea Party now:
...but wait folks, it gets worse. (I know, I was surprised, too!)
Now there is a ...wait for it...wait for it...Coffee Party!
Equally unoriginal in their name, if only because they wanted to get as close to "Tea" as possible but, damn it, it was already taken-again. And, apparently, there is a shortage of intimidating beverages that are diverse enough to be served either hot or cold. Guess who the Coffee Party is angry at? Bingo! The Tea Party. A group of people organizing to argue with a group who are not being taken seriously by anybody other than Fox News and the hangers on who believe somebody is going to storm into their homes in the middle of the night and steal their firearms and Twinkies. (I only recently became aware of the Twinkie conspiracy myself. It's just as plausible as the whole gun thing, so what the hell, let''s roll with it.)
We have come to expect this kind of political posturing from the 'pubs. (mandated GOP enforced Loyalty Oath for Republicans to sign so they don't vote an Independent Charlie Crist into the U.S. Senate?) This has become a children's game with high stakes. It isn't about good ideas or good policy. It's about my ideas and my policy! I'm ashamed.
Now, back to the Coffee Party. What was started by Annabel Park, a 42-year old Korean-American, to be a vessel of discussion is showing signs of becoming as ridiculous and vile as the Tea Party "movement". One of their first actions? Suggest Annabel be shown the door because she wasn't "powerful" enough to move this tasty brown beverage party ahead. She isn't ruthless enough, she isn't equipped to politically go head-to-head with the Tea Bag Nation.
The Tea Party has a well established bloated and false narrative and, no doubt, the Coffee Party will answer in kind. Neither appear to have an ounce of civility or tolerance in their agenda and both will only further shame the political landscape of america.
I'm going to have a little Tea Party of my own. The only kind worth paying any attention to:
