Talking to one another at home

Does talking to one another represent conversation?
Do we do this at home or do we talk AT one another?.
Conversation is communication but communication includes so much more.
Do we know how to talk to one another?. Talking can be talking past one another. What we really need is a response and to both listen and to be listened to.
I'm trying to encourage interaction within the home and between the generations.
So much of our lives, now, is structured around computers but have our older relatives caught up?.
My blog on Computer Art is trying to engage people around a computer and encourage those who are not computer literate (and most of us are barely getting there in our knowledge of computers) to learn from other family members.
The young learn at school, the slightly older on the job, and from then on it's up for some and down for others.
Mental activity and social interaction can keep those neural sprouts growing, so important for maintaining our memory and concentration. But, it's NEW things which are the most critical.
We can help those who don't have computer skills to acquire them, the young can encourage the old and computer art can challenge the brain and the mind.
It's as easy or as difficult as you wish to make it.
You'll be creating colourful images but at the same time learning about shapes and proportion and geometry and use of the mouse and what this means and what makes that happen. You'll do it together and you'll have fun.
Don't worry about producing geniuses, they'll happen along from time to time anyway. Just enjoy yourselves, create some harmony, relieve that stress and aim for being happy well adjusted human beings.
What was that I was saying about conversation?. It's well and truly your turn now. Let me know what you think about any part of this blog and the ideas contained within.
