Taking Over

February 2nd 2012 23:09
Ashley looked around there were dark people everywhere. It was a sight that made her feel nervous. Gone were the people with her milk pale skin, in had come the revolutionists who were eager to show how intelligent they really were. She pulled down the sleeves of her cardigan in order to hide some of her skin. She felt odd that there were so many people. They were all around her. So many dark, dark, people, with dark, dark, skins, and dark, dark, thoughts.

“Oh my God, we've turned into Africa!” Ashley gasped as she backed up and bumped into a stiff back.

The back was so strong and warm, it made her feel as though she had bumped into the back of a real man. She thoughts a fine Italian perhaps, with lightweight hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. It made her almost want to melt inside of her heart. However then she turned around and she saw a big black face with a big wide nose looking down on her. Ashley gasped and shook her head before she turned away and ran! She raced far along a road that was lined by black people. They looked to her, but shrugged her away. Ashley didn't even want to know what they were thinking, they were just blobs of tar, which were the colour of the road beneath. She wondered why they were not living in the ground or somewhere similar. She wondered why God had left the world!

Ashley gasped as she saw her house. She raced up to it, and then she darted inside. Her heart felt weak, and it fluttered like a butterfly until her legs wobbled. Ashley moved through the house and called for her mum and dad. However they were not in. Only the house servant was in and she came right away. She had been cooking and had a mess on her shirt. Ashley gasped as she looked to the helper who also had skin as dark as coal.

“I can't see you right now!” she declared before she moved into her room where she was left to shiver under her bed until she felt better.

Ashley woke up. It was dark inside. There were no candles. She yawned, and then she moved out from under her bed. Ashley smelled food on the kitchen table, and she moved to it before she could wake up her mind. Her belly was so hungry it was sore Ashley walked as though in a day dream towards the scent. It was so fine that she wanted to smile as she moved. In the kitchen she saw her mum and dad.

“Hello;” Ashley cheered.

“Hello;” her mum replied.

Ashley looked to her dad who seemed sullen and depressed. He stirred a spoon languidly inside a dish of hot peas. Ashley knew he was in a bad mood.

“So I saw a lot of dark people today;” Ashley said as she was given a plate of meat and potato.

“I know!” gasped her mum before she began to sob.

“Everyone's seen them;” told her dad as he began to grumble. “They are rioting;” he added.

“What for?” asked Ashley.

“For general rights, and human placing;” told her dad as he began to grow weak inside of his mind.

Ashley's mum shed a tear, and then she put down her napkin.

“I am feeling faint I have to go to my room;” she said before she moved.

Ashley watched her mum leave, and then she looked to her dad who glared at her in a stern manner.

“Don't mention dark people at the table again;” he said before he began to heatedly chew on some pork.

“Sorry;” muttered Ashley as she grew a little disheartened. “But there are a lot;” she added. “I can't even see any of the other colours any longer;” she said. “Not even an Italian;” she added.

“That's because they have all gone to war, and died;” told her father. “They have left to protect the country;” he added. “That means more dark people are going to be noticed;” he said. “They have to look after more, and be more responsible;” he muttered before he began to shake his head. “But I guess I agree, “ he added. “There do seem to be a lot;” he muttered.

“I don't want to go outside any more;” muttered Ashley. “They scare me;” she said.

“Don't be absurd!” gasped her dad. “They are harmless;” he muttered. “Just like you or me;” he added before a great blast crashed through the house and shuddered the walls.

Her dad got up and moved to inspect. He gasped as he saw a brick with a wad of cloth that had been lit. He charged for it, and began to beat at the fire to ensure the rest of the house didn't catch.
Ashley gasped and moved to collect a bucket of water. It took minutes to fill, however her father used it most wisely and was able to lick down more of the fire with the water. He told her to get another, and then another. Ashley did so, and each time her father used it to break down the fire even more. After a while the fire faded. Ashley heard her dad sigh.

Then there was another blast, and her father moved to the window. A brick had been thrown to smash the car window, and it was lit from the inside. Ashley heard her father rage as he saw men in white hoods and cloth coats. He moved to the telephone in order to phone up the police.

“What the hell I am not black!” he muttered as he rang.

Ashley moved to the window and saw the same figure. The she saw the figure lift up the hood, and under it she saw the face of a dark person with white eyes, dark skin, white teeth, and wide features.

“What are they doing wearing that?” Ashley gasped.

Her father heard the whisper, and he approached the window. He saw the same face and figure, and he shuddered.

“They're taking over the KKK;” he muttered as he grew a shiver of disgust.

The person without the coat smiled as he raised a hand in order to point it their way. Ashley’s dad grabbed Ashley and slammed her to the floor just before some bullets were shot inside of the house. The plaster on the other side of the room caught the bullets and Ashley's father trembled.

“The monsters!” he raged before he moved to pick up the phone. “Hurry! Police!” he shouted as the call was picked up. “Fifty seven Maple Drive;” he muttered as he began to sweat as a car was driven most ferociously before the sound went away.

Ashley popped her head up, and her father's head follow. Her father gasped as he saw the yard on fire, and then the car blasted as its tank warmed up to the fire that had been lit inside of it.

“Monsters!” cried out her dad as he stared. “All monsters;”” he argued before he picked up Ashley and moved to get his family away from the house.
