A taby is any cat that has a coat that has been made of stripes, dots, lines, or strange swirling patterns. Sometimes there is also an M marked on the brow. The tabbies are a common cat breed, which are chosen over others to be bred as house pets. There are quite a few breeds of this cat. The cat's ancestor comes from the African Wildcat. The coat can be colours tortise shell, gray, red, black, blue, or a range of mixes. It is a very well mannered cat which is easy to train to be a housepet.
