Swine Flu Update 17 June 2009
I am writing to let you know that one of our staff members has been diagnosed with swine flu. He contracted the virus while in Melbourne and, although he spent part of the day last Wednesday in his office, he had no close contact with other staff or students.
The staff member has been advised by the NSW Public Health Department that he does not require any treatment. However, he has remained at home since the diagnosis.
The swift identification and response of this case has meant minimal risk to other staff and students. In accordance with advice from the NSW Public Health Department, if you do have flu symptoms the University requires you to stay at home until you have received medical advice, or until your symptoms have resolved.
Please continue to be vigilant in adopting personal hygiene measures, as described on the University’s Swine Flu information page, to prevent any potential spread of the disease.

Vice-Chancellor and Principal
