Super Smash Bros. Brawl Review

May 6th 2008 23:43
Rating-9.8/10

I waited 2 hours and paid $50 to get the second copy of this game at Walmart. It was worth evey second it took and every penny I spent. This game is great awesome!!! This game lives up to the reputation for this series.
The first thing you notice about this game is it's graphics. On Link's sheild, for example, you can see every single little detail. Every explosion is beautifully designed. Even Kirby has improved his looks for this astounding game. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the graphics.
The first thing you should try is Adventure Mode the Subspace Emissary. It is not a simple, just beat it in 5 miutes kind of thing. It is a complex story, and the stages require some thinking, and the bosses are beautifully designed. You get to play as all the characters eventually (though to play as the last three you must go back to the levels after you beat Tabuu). And you can power up all those characters with stickers, as well.

The next thing to do is to invite some freinds over and play!! The stages are so awesome! They range from Mushroomy Kingdom, a dried up version of level 1-1 from SMB, to the absolute destructable Luigi's Mansion, to the volcanic Norfair, where you must dodge lava left and right, to Hanenbow, the musicless stage, where the music is changed by the players! There are so many new stages (and my old favorites are there also).
The new characters (yes, snake included) are all really fun to play as. I personally am not very good with Captain Olimar, but he is one of my freind's best characters, so I suppose he deserves a mention. Snake has changed from pistols etc. to explosives, although I do find it stupid how he aims a bazooka 2 inches from his foot. Now Sonic I like, he has his traditional spin attack, where you keep on pressing down B, and he charges his spin. His up B creates a spring directly under himself, propelling him upwards. Ike has to be one of the strongest people there. He swings around a two-handed blade in one hand!.

The items in this game are the craziest items in the series. When a gooey bomb is thrown, the battle turns into a game of tag, and at the end of the time limit, the one who is "it" blows up. The assist trophies bring an indestructable, super powerful being. Whether it is Andross, WaLuigi, or Resetti, the result is either hilarious or scary. And when the golden hammer turns out to be a squeeky toy, I usually burst out in laughter, as long as I didn't get it.
The part that gets hundreds of hours of enjoyment is definitely the stage builder. there are three additions you can get, edit parts A, B, and C. You can choose music from practically any game, and the stages can vary greatly.
If there was a soundtrack from any game, and I could only have one, it would be this game. There are songs from every nintendo series, and it covers almost all the games. You can collect CD's on the levels and get the songs on them, then use them in the stages. The CPU's unfortunately, make it their mission to stop you from getting CD's.
Final Smashes. Terrible attacks that kill everyone LOL. I cannot explain the thrill of using it. To use it, break a smash ball and press B. You must try it out for yourself.
Wii connect 24 allows players to play anyone around the world. There is also smash service, which means Nintendo sends a piicture, replay, and custom stage every day. The one thing that stops this game from getting a ten is not being able to use custom stages online.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. This game is great awesome!! In summary, this game kicks butt, and if you do not own it, you have not lived.
