Sunday NBA Plays

December 9th 2012 14:04
Recap from last night: LeBron James did not meet up to expectations last night like I thought he would have scoring just 36 fantasy points. With the high price tag on James I had to go cheaper at other positions which helped me actually since OJ Mayo scored 53 fantasy points and Brandon Knight ended with 45 fantasy points. My biggest bust of the night was Damian Lillard who scored just 18 fantasy points. Overall it was not a bad night I finished with 269 fantasy points to place in my 50/50 contest I played while coming up short by two points from placing in a free roll I played. Here is what I like for today.

Center:

Tyson Chandler vs. Denver: This is probably my favorite play on the board today. Chandler gets a matchup with Denver who ranks dead last in fantasy points allowed to centers (48.3 FPPGA). Over the last few games Chandler has started to look like great value in which he is averaging 32.8 fantasy points per game the last four games. Chandler comes with a reasonable price tag and has the ability to have a monster day today.

Forward:

Glen Davis vs. Phoenix: Davis is another guy who has a reasonable price tag and gets a matchup with the Suns who allow the fourth most fantasy points to power forwards (40.9 FPPGA). Davis has been impressive as of late with three double-doubles in his last four games. Davis is averaging 37.3 fantasy points per game the last four games. With a reasonable price tag and a favorable matchup we should see another above average night from Davis.

Andray Blatche vs. Milwaukee: Blatche will get another start tonight for the injured Brook Lopez. Now Blatche will be starting at center but you will be able to grab him at power forward at almost all fantasy sites. Blatche comes with a cheap price tag for a guy who is filling nicely while Lopez has been out averaging 30.4 minutes per game the last five games in which he has averaged 33 fantasy points per game. Tonight Blatche will get a matchup against Milwaukee who ranks 27th in the league for fantasy points allowed to centers (40.6 FPPGA). You have to continue to take advantage of Blatche now while his price tag is low and his favorable matchup tonight.

Gerald Wallace vs. Milwaukee: You donít have to look real far from the Nets and Bucks game to find another guy who could have solid night tonight. Wallace comes with a cheaper price tag and gets a matchup with the Bucks who 27th most fantasy points to small forwards (36.4 FPPGA). Over the last few games Wallace has been putting up consistent numbers across his entire stat line that has helped him average 24 fantasy points per game the last four games which is above his season average of 20.1 fantasy points per game. I like the price tag and his potential for a good night against the Bucks.

Guard:

Kobe Bryant vs. Utah: Kobe will come with a hefty price tag today but with some of the cheaper guys I like it wonít be a problem to put him in your lineup. You almost need to have him in your lineup each night right now since he has been on fire as of late carrying this Lakers offense. Bryant is averahing 47 fantasy points per game the last four games. Utah has struggled against the two guards this season allowing 35.1 fantasy points per game which ranks them in the bottom five. Bryant dropped 38 fantasy points earlier on the season against Utah and he will have the opportunity to do it again with an offense that is playing at a much faster pace. I have no problem spending the money I think we see Kobe grab another night of over 40 fantasy points.

Russell Westbrook vs. Indiana: Westbrook is going to be the highest price guy in my lineup today but again I am saving money on other areas so I can spend it on a guy like Westbrook who is a fantasy point scorer. Westbrook has averaged 41.3 fantasy points the last four games and I do not see him slowing down anytime soon with how well the Thunderís offense is clicking right now. Westbrook will face an Indiana team that is allowing 34.8 fantasy points per game to point guards and allowed 40 fantasy points to Westbrook in last seasonís meeting. I will take the risk and spend some money on him also.

Mo Williams vs. LA Lakers: Spending money on two big time guards like Westbrook and Bryant I need to find some value in a guard who is a tad cheaper that should put up respectable fantasy numbers. Mo Williams could be that guy tonight. Williams is going to get matchup with an inexperienced Chris Duhon. Williams could be in for a big night also since someone is going to have to step up their game if Derrick Favors and Al Jefferson are not ready to go for this contest. Williams gets a matchup with the Lakers who have allowed 35 fantasy points per game to point guards. Williams is coming off a solid performance for a guy who played just 24 minutes his last time out in which he had 23 fantasy points. In the first meeting with LA this season Williams had 23 fantasy points and that was against an LA team that played defense. Now the Lakers just play a run and gun style in which we should see a decent night from Williams.

I really hope a lot of you are reading this blog and using some of the guys that I have been throwing out there for your lineup. Tonight should be another night where some of these guys put up some nice stat lines to help your fantasy team. If you have not gotten involved in the daily fantasy contests give it a try and enjoy the fun that us fantasy addicts are having.

Good Luck Everyone!
