Sunday Morning Breakfast Tradition
June 17th 2010 20:18
I have gotten into the habit of making Sunday morning breakfast for my wife. I like to try new recipes like French Toast Waffles and Farmer’s Breakfast, which is a combination of fried potatoes, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, bacon, eggs, and cheese all in one skillet. It takes a little time to prepare but it is quite delicious.
In Honor of Jimmy Dean
Jimmy Dean passed away this week. As most of you know, he marketed a delicious breakfast sausage. In his honor, I decided to spice up some plain pork ground sausage to mimic his. I also decided not to wait until Sunday so I made it this morning.
The Recipe
Following is the recipe if you are interested in trying it.
Combine all the following spices in a small bowl. Mix them completely...
• ¼ tsp. Accent
• ¼ tsp. black pepper
• ¼ tsp. coriander
• ½ tsp. parsley flakes
• ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes
• ¼ tsp. sage
If you like it hot add:
• ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
Put one-pound ground pork sausage in large mixing bowl, add the spices, and mix thoroughly. Make into patties and fry them until brown. Serve with any side dishes you like. Toast and eggs are a natural. If you try it, leave a post letting us know if you enjoyed it.
Bon appétit
