Poland's Great and Good

April 12th 2010 09:57
How dreadful must the people of Poland be feeling after the death of their president and many of those in power. Last night on the news there were scenes of mass mourning across Poland, a country that has seen more than its fair share of misery in the last sixty years or so.

Hopefully there is a stability in Poland now that has not been evident for many years and this should help them through the period of mourning to the formation of a new government that will be as well ordered and respected as the one they have lost.

It did seem a case of unusual and sad irony that the spot at which the accident that killed the president happened, was the exact spot of one of the most awful massacres of the Second World War. One can only hope that Poland can come back smilimg out of this tragic occurrence.

Brown Dissolves Parliament

April 6th 2010 10:15
Brown has been to see the queen to dissolve parliament and the election is now set for May 6th. I just hope that we don't get a conservative government or we will back to where we were with Thatcher in the nineteen eighties. If you thought things were bad now, just give Cameron a chance and you will see how bad they can get.

While I don't usually write political posts unless we have a complete sea change and give the Lib Dems a chance, Britain will soon be a third world country. What's happened under Brown may have been bad but if you let the Tory friends of the bankers through the door we will really know what bad is. If you want a lighter read than this today then hop on over to my writing blog. where you will find my musings on everything but Gordon Brown and David Cameron.

Hallo World

The Writing LifeYour text goes here

This may be just another blog by just another writer but I hope that if you do visit here for news on writing and writers and anything newsy in between, that you will return. The rise of the world wide web has revolutionised life for writers and for writing, it has opened up a whole new world of freelance opportunities for Jenny come latelies like me.

Until four years ago most of my writing was either academic, creative content for a course, or half hearted attempts at plays, poetry and a novel, then I happened on blogs and blogging and life has never been the same since. I still work part time in an academic context, still play with my own writing, but nowadays I also earn the greater part of my living from writing articles and web content. I hope that this blog, along with my other two writing blogs will provide some information and some fun for my readers.
