Subway Series Aftermath
May 21st 2007 16:37
Good afternoon all,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Must start on thesubway series. While I am happy that the Mets won two out of three, it just kills me that they did not sweep. It seems to me that I have been in this situation with them before. They don't seem to have that killer instinct. They seem content that they have won the series and the first two games and then are all lethargic in the final. It has happened several times before with the yankees and other teams. Yesterday would have been a good game to bury the yanks, but they sleep-walked through the game. That type of play and energy will not win a world series. That better change really soon.
On to tee-ball. My son had his last game yesterday and he played his best game of the year. Still too many times of fooling around and not paying attention, but for the most part, he did nicely. He fielded a ground ball, but before he could throw to first, another kid ran over to him and asked for the ball. My son is such a sweet kid, that he gave him the ball instead of throwing it himself. I wanted to kill the other kid. He also ran all the way to the base instead of stopping halfway through like he normally does and walking the rest of the way. And most importantly, in his last at bat, he hit it on the coach pitch instead ofthe tee. Needless to say, I was the proud father yesterday. He was beaming as well, because after the game there was a big trophy ceremony. He kept telling everybody that it was his first trophy. I had to grab him and hug him and kiss him. He was absolutely delicious.
I am getting a little annoyed with the editor I hired to look over my manuscript. It is never on time with the deadlines. She always has an excuse but I think I made a bad hire. Live and learn, you can't always go by price. Will keep you updated. Have to run, since my daughter is driving me crazy and pulling on my leg and crying.
Later,
Jonathan
