Romancing the Geek

"Dear Geek, Is it true that 'love is all you need'?"

My Dear Katja,
we really need to dispel a few myths here don't we. Remember always that we are animals, wild beasts at play in the urban jungle. We're designed to procreate, normally after consuming vast quantities of fermented grains. What is love? Well it could be defined as lust plus dependance. A simplistic formula perhaps but the formula for an atomic explosion is relatively simple also.
Our brain releases all sorts of goodies into our system when we come across someone whose pheremones fondle our olfactory senses suggestively. Hopeless romantics could thus be looked upon as drug-addicts: hopelessly addicted to the love-meth churning in their brains, surging wrecklessly groin-ward.

Is love all you need? Well you could test the theory. Book a cabin nestled between the rocky bosom of the most beautiful hills in the most lovely part of the country. Ahhhh...what a vision as you remain entwined with the love of your life, his/her love will be your food, no need to pack the strassburg. Lost in his/her eyes you'll be transported to a place of infinite beauty. Many days in - listen not to the debilitating pains in your belly as you dehydrate and your body begins to shut down. Ignore the death of your cells and the cracking of your vital tissue. Love is all you need. Not food, not water, not rest, not stimuli of any sort. And as you dry up and become husks, your bodies twisted in pain, locked together by rigor mortis, remember the words of the immortal Patty Smyth: "Sometimes love just aint enough."
Yes - sometimes one needs other things like cheese and dvd's of obscure British comedies from the seventies.

Until next time - oranges are an excellent source of orange juice.

What's It All Mean?

Nothingness. In the beginning there was nothing on the vast expanse of the blog page until The All Knowing Geek touched fingertip to key; and he saw that it was good. Amen.
The AKG is here for you. He was borne of the energies skipping to and fro across the internet. He sees all and knows all. Thankfully for humankind The AKG's enormous skullcap has now been cracked asunder and you're all welcome to feast on the delicious goo inside. You're now sailing atop the vast waters of my wisdom, trawling my knowledge of trivial, oft useless things.
All are welcome to ask The AKG's advice on life, love and methods of stain removal.

To kick off let me relay to you a conversation over several double espressos with a female friend. There she sat, all coffee fuelled philosophicalness (yes - The AKG may invent words at will - tremble before my word smithery!).
"Do you believe in the concept of right and wrong?" she asked me.
"My dear Ramona", I answered, although her name wasn't actually Ramona - I just like the name. I went on to explain that there may not be any solid yard-stick for right and wrong as such. Everything is what it is because it is (a belief system I very wittily call: 'ism').
I often wonder about people who claim to know what's right and what's wrong. How do they know? Does anyone really know anything for sure? I know something can be inverted but can anything just be 'verted'?
Yes these are the things that occupy my large, muscular brain. The more I learn, the less I know and in the end isn't that what real knowledge is all about. The answer is an emphatic: 'perhaps'.
The AKG is here to answer all your questions. In this cold, harsh world The AKG knows what you're about, he knows the inner workings of your mind, he knows what brand of toothpaste you use - there I am, just outside your bathroom window in the bushes - wave Hi!
Until next time - beware of things that mass and writhe.
