Sorry for the delay! Blues Update

February 8th 2010 14:37
Sorry to all the have read, or had any interest in reading my blog. I am back, and hopefully I can get regular updates on here. MY goal is to have at least three to four blogs a week. One a day is just to much for what I have going on.

So, lets start with the Blues last three games. We won in Chicago, lost to San Jose at home, and the lost to Chicago at home. What is the deal????? I have never in my life see such a inconsistent team EVER!! Now granted both the San Jose, and last Chicago game the goalies stood on there heads to get there teams the win. This team just can't seem to get any type of flow going game in game out. And to get on a serious playoff run, we are going to need a good winning streak of say 4 to 5 games.

They play one more game before we take off for the Olympic break, and maybe the time off will help this team out. I am just wondering what is the front office going to do. We missed out on Kovalchuk. Which they say they had interest in B.S. We have so aging veterans on this team, alot of young players, and not ONE that will put the puck in the net more than 30 times this year. Folks that is a huge problem. This is now a goal scoring league, watch Pittsburg, Washington, and we have seen San Jose and Chicago. They are loaded with talent that can finish. Definately not just one player on each team either.

With the break in the NHL season I will do updates relating to the Olympic Hockey and specifically to the USA team. Now I am all about supporting my home country, but if Canada doesn't win gold this year I will eat this blog.

See you next time!

Blues vs Edmonton Preview

January 28th 2010 21:05
Tonight the Blues head into Edmonton following there 3-2 defeat to the Vancouver Canucks last night. This is there third of four meeting this year which they have split with one victory a piece.
St louis is going into tonights game with a 6-3-1 record over there last ten games, and are 1-1 on this west coast swing. Edmonton has lost 8 of there last ten, and a team that seems to be on the skids with several of there key players out with injury. Mike Comery may return to the line up tonight after a bout of mononucleosis. For the Blues they look to have Colaiacovo returning to the blue line soon, perhaps this Saturday evening against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Four the season series Alex Steen is the Blues leader with 4 points against the Oilers. While Dustin Penner of the Oilers has accumulated 5 points against the Blues.

I would expect to see Chris Mason returning to mind the pipes for the Blues after Ty Conklin has been in net the last two starts. The game starts at 8:30pm central time, so

LETS GO BLUES!

Vancouver 3 St. Louis 2

January 28th 2010 14:22
It was a night of turn overs and a potential bad call that leads the Blues to a loss yesterday evening. Of course Vacouver being the best team in the NHL at home didn't help either.
With a good start to the first period, and a quick first goal, it looked like we were on the way to a well played game. A quick follow up goal by Vancouvers Mason Raymond tied it up at the 6 minute mark.
A very sloppy second period for the Blues, but they were able to keep the game tied at 1-1 through two periods.
In the fianl period, with three Vancouver power plays to the Blues none they were able to take, and secure the lead for another league leading best home win. With 47 points at home, Vancouver is tops in the league.
Next on tap for Stl is the Edmonton Oilers tonight at 8:30pm central time.
