Red Tacton

We are moving into an age where wireless and infrared devices can transmit data without the need of physical links, such as cables. But what about the HUMAN BODY as a means of transmitting data? A Japanese company is developing technology call Red Tacton, which can do just that, and much more.

They call it Human Area Networking, and it uses minute electric filelds emitted on the human body as a safe high speed (up to 10Mbps) network transmission path.

The transmission path is formed the moment the human body comes into contact with a Red Tacton receiver. Breaking contact ends communication. Terminals located on the user, or embedded in devices, are linked through various combinations according to the user's natural, physical movements, and communication is possible using any part of the body to send the signal.

So I can play footsies with a girl at a dinner party and give her my phone number at the same time?

Crazy!

I have to thank Red Tacton for the information. You guys blow my mind!
