223 Days Till Christmas

May 16th 2012 04:06
Now that the cars broken down we have both increased our personal exersize program. Yeah we are walking more and not just to the bus stop. Even the duck pond is all good.

All this though has a downside. My wife an I were out walking and she had an epileptic siezure. Then another and by the time an ambulance arrivedwewere up o number four. On the way to hospital she had two more. In the emergency room she had some more. By the time the medication began to kick ln we were up to number nine.

The blood tests came back positive so no_one really knows why. I can only trust God. I believe He can touch her it is now only a case of how are you going to do it.

As I write this we still go walking no more or less than before. We take the wheelchair as a precaution but it so far has not beeen needed. I hope you are having a good day where eve r you are as I am only going to let mine get better

228 Days Till Christmas

May 11th 2012 06:20
It was raining so I drove my grandaughter back to school. She was going on a camp and had left her bag at our house.

After dropping her off I drove home. On the last corner the steering tightened up. Once safely in our driveway the engine cut out.

Ever felt the need for a quick prayer that will penetrate that which is bothering you? Well the engine restarted and the car went into the garage where I might add has stayed ever since.

My wife an I are getting familliar again with riding the bus. Around here in Invercargill, NZ they are free. We are also meeting people we would not have otherwise met so this situation has a bright side.

231 Days Till Christmas

Well so what you think to yourself, ha, big deal. Christmas is a happy time, to be able to get the maximum benefit start practicing now. Ever heard about random acts of kindness. This how I practice it.

Last Sunday I took one of my books to church and left it where it could be found with nobody watching. Imagine my surprise when my wife scooped it up. We both had a good laugh later.

Have a go and let me know how you get on.

245 Days Till Christmas

At our house we have a Christmas box and in it we place items of interest. Things we have collected from sales through the year. Sometimes they remain there, othertimes they get snapped up as birthday presents.

With four children, seven stepchildren and 40 something grand kids we need all the help we can get

Does it Ever Really Stop

August 11th 2011 22:50
The specialist told us the cancer was in remisson so we did not have to see her anymore. Most people we talk to think my wife has got an end date. That is not so.

Then two weeks later she found a lump in her breast. Our family doctor rang the hospital and got us in pronto. The staff were falling over oneanother to help

A Caregivers Perspective

March 22nd 2011 02:44

The computer screen is on. I am staring at an internal view of a human being. The graphics are such that I am looking down through a person’s body. Into the skull, down the throat and along the stomach area. It is captivating, and I cannot take my eyes of it.
Our specialist tells me this image is of my wife and I look in horror as he shows me her left lung. There is a growth in it and I do not know what to say. X-rays are one thing but computer pictures in three-dimensional imagery are something else. As the hospital doctor speaks, I hear the words chemotherapy and radiotherapy but the rest is a mumble. I am trying to listen but it goes over the top of my head

Moving to Blenheim

December 28th 2010 01:08

My wife and I began to get an urge to go to Blenheim. After much prayer, we got a peace to go. This time I was not to keen on selling anything. Instead, the idea of giving things away to needy people played on my mind. Hine liked the idea as well. There were some very happy and blessed people when we left town

Whanganui Watercress

December 22nd 2010 02:07

We stayed in Whanganui for a couple of years. During this time, I got to know some of my stepchildren a little better. As my wife is part Maori and part Chinese I have learnt to enjoy the delicacies of both cultures and used to have the waistline to prove it

Whanganui Beckons

December 21st 2010 00:45

With the children spending more time with their parents, it was as they say all well. As we, both had grown up children in the North Island Hine and I felt that now was a good time to leave Invercargill. Both of us had built a close relationship with these grandchildren and felt to back of to enable this family time to meld

More on Invercargill

When moving with the Holy Spirit it is always a case of what is God up to now. Back in a town, I have always had a soft spot for; the reason God brought us here soon came to the fore. Firstly, He had my attention when Hine got a job with a start the next day

What a wonderful and inspirational prayer. Thankyou for sharing these and the other adaptions.

I am familiar with these but it is gratifying to spend the time to read them again. Thankyou once again for sharing them.

on Basic Freelance Writing Skills

Hello,
I'm afraid to say that a lot of people are paid peanuts to write these articles, and when you pay peanuts you get monkeys writing them.

If editors were able to pay a proper pay rate the grammar and spelling problems would literally correct themselves overnight.

Good money will attract good and better writers.

Hi,
This certainly is a hard time for anyone.

If you are not able to go to his funeral perhaps sending some flowers or a card may help.
