StarWars and the Subway Hero
January 5th 2007 09:04
Greetings fans and fellow bloggers
I feel I should make a mention regarding a guy called Wesley Autrey, he's the chap who dived onto a subway in New York to save a man who had a seizure and fell in between the rails just as the train was coming into the station. I know this has been on the news somewhat but felt it was still worth a mention. All I can say is what a great unselfish act which resulted in a son being reunited with his parents and good on him for being in the right place at the right time and also being modest with it. Nice feelgood story to start 2007 with.
Now who can remember Starwars? Hopefully a few of you?? Now I watched the first movie 'A New Hope' the other night and I must say sitting at home with the lights off, surround sound on, I enjoyed it as much as I did in 1977. It was just a joy to watch a movie which at that time wasn't a planned commercial enterprise unlike the more recent movies which have a crap story and have just been manufactured to fit the original movie story line. No this was a joy as it was just good old fashioned escapism like the old Saturday morning movies, no swearing or extreme violence etc.
Also the doco dvd disc with it was really quite interesting too, and I never realised how close it came to not being made, well worth a revisit to your childhood and chill.
For fans living outside of Christchurch it has been very warm again today, so caught the sun today when I went for a road cycle ride.
Well been a long day so will leave you with a thought for the day 'Learn to listen. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly'.
