There's a time to think, and a time to act. And this, gentlemen, is no time to think.

GI Joe's STORM SHADOW

April 7th 2007 01:50
Storm Shadow
I think that storm shadow was my favorite bad guy, certainly in all of GI Joe, but maybe in all of childhood toys. There's sometyhing mysterious and fun about ninjas, and he was so confident and capable... he was a stud. Storm Shadow was Cobra's Ninja Master. Rumor was that he used to work for the US government but after going undercover for Cobra he brainwashed and became one of them.

I don't know if it's true, but my friends and I always believed that he was Snake Eye's brother. They were equally strong and talented so they had to be on different sides or else the battles would only last a few minutes. Anyhow, I'd love to hear from folks who loved or hated him, or could fill in the gaps in my knowledge

Optimus Prime

April 2nd 2007 12:21
Optimus Prime is by far the coolest transforer ever (at least on TV... I liked the t-rex --
that I can't remember the name of -- as a toy). He was the leader of the good guys on the transformers, known as the autobots. He is a powerful, barrel-chested warrior who transforms from robot into a tractor trailer. I loved playing with the trailer but was dismayed that it only showed up on the TV show once or twice. The thing that was so great about Prime was how he epitomized integrity and honor. He was a heroic leader. And aparently, he's making a comeback!

Per wikipedia, "In the upcoming 2007 Transformers film, Optimus Prime will be present as Autobot leader. Prime now transforms into a conventional Peterbilt cab (akin to his Laser Rod incarnation), rather than cab over design of his original Generation 1 body. In a move that has proven rather controversial among some fans, Prime's vehicle mode is now decorated with red flames painted onto a blue body, apparently as a means of incorporating both his classic colors while retaining a realistic color layout to the truck mode."

Battle Cat

March 29th 2007 14:23
Battle Cat Cartoon
Battle Cat (aka the cowardly Cringer) was He-Man's trusty feline steed. He spends most of his life as Cringer but when Prince Adam pulls and incredible Hulk and turns into He-Man, he then points his sword at cringer (absolutely petrified of the experience) and he turns into BATTLE CAT! When he becomes Battle Cat, he grows to about twice his size, and is outfitted in red armor that covers his head, and back, with a saddle mounted on it for riding, as he is He-Man trusty steed.

on Two Franchises

The audience for star trek is so narrow that I don't think it can afford a big budget production with quality special effects. I think that limits a franchise like star trek from producing consistently good stuff.

Obviously the best candidate should win. The problem is that some good women don't run because they're treated poorly or held to a higher standard. Any initiative to increase participation by women and minorities is attempting to compensate for this sort of self-selection bias.

Yeah... I figured he'd be the best one to start with. It's touch not to love an enormous tiger (ish) cat with a saddle

Adam Sandler is the star of said movie, but that's as close as it comes. It's a different comedic genious doing the speaking and and different movie.

HINT: The speaker has a funny moustache and he's talking to an old lady who is quilting.
