Sports News - December 2006

As reported on The Age website Pakistani bastman Mohammad Yousuf has broken the record set by Viv Richards in 1976 of the most runs scored in a calendar year. He has also broken the record for the most centuries scored in a calendar year with nine. Pakistan are playing the West Indies in a 3 test series and Yousuf broke Richards' record of 1710 runs during his second innings of the 2nd test.

Mohammad Yousuf has played 11 test matches this year, the same number that Richards played in 1976. Does this make Yousuf the best batsman in the world at the moment?

McGrath Plays But Clark Does the Damage

December 1st 2006 03:27
As The Age reports Glenn McGrath was named in the side for the 2nd test and has bowled well, however Stuart Clark has done the damage removing both English openers before lunch.

Clark replaced Brett Lee from the Cathedral end and it took him less than two overs to claim his first scalp.

If his good form continues throughout the match will Stuart Clark cement his spot in the team?
